MICROMEGA - The infinitely small to the infinitely big - a Poetic-Scientific tale

An individual is taken to Casualty with no proof of identity.

According to the medical report the patient is suffering from Retrograde and Anteretrograde Amnesia of unknown causes. Following several months of unproductive tests and research into the cause of his amnesia, the neuropsychologist, a specialist in cognitive disorders, who is in charge of the patient, decides to call for the help of specialist researchers in medical imaging.

They launch the programme, MICROMEGA, in order to test out a new microscope on the patient - an ultra powerful microscope able to capture, with the help of a tomographic process, objects on a subatomic scale: the Zeptoscopic AKI scanner.

In the part of the brain associated with memory storage they discover a whole solar system containing thirty celestial objects of different compositions. After having called on astrophysicists to chart the system, the medical staff decide to confront the patient with their new discovery.

To everybody's amazement, the patient is able to identify the planets as memories and therefore rediscover his past, buried deep in the depths of his memory.
